KAZAKHSTAN IS PREPARING TO SIGN AGREEMENTS ON THE MUTUAL RECOGNITION OF SEAMAN’S DIPLOMS

As you know, in the fall of 2021, Kazakhstan was included in the “white list” of the International Maritime Organization after IMO recognized the domestic training system for seafarers as fully compliant with international standards, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

Based on this, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation initiated the conclusion of a bilateral agreement with Kazakhstan on the recognition of professional diplomas of seafarers. This measure is provided for by the International Convention on the Training, Certification of Seafarers and Watchkeeping, so that seafarers can work freely on ships flying the flag of a second country.

The agreement, among other things, provides for the exchange of methods and experience in the training of seafarers, as well as mutual inspections of the training system.

It is planned that after the completion of internal formal procedures, the agreement will be signed at the end of this year.

In addition, by the end of 2024, it is planned to conclude similar agreements with other Caspian states and Turkey.

IT’S TIME TO TRANSFORM KTZ – TOKAEV

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that it is necessary to modernize the national company “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy”, Zakon.kz reports.

“The time has come to transform KTZ into a national transport and logistics company,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

According to him, this will expand the mandate and tasks of KTZ, will allow the company to work more comprehensively to develop the country’s transport and transit potential.

CPC ASKS THE RUSSIAN COURT TO STOPPING THE DECISION TO SUSPEND ACTIVITIES

The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) sent a petition to the Primorsky District Court of Novorossiysk with a request to suspend the execution of the court order on the administrative suspension of the company’s activities, Zakon.kz reports.

Recall that the Primorsky District Court of Novorossiysk decided to suspend the activities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC, a company with the participation of Russia and Kazakhstan) due to environmental violations.

On May 6, Rostransnadzor conducted an unscheduled on-site inspection of CPC-R JSC, as a result of which it discovered several documentary violations under the oil spill response plan.

The Southern Department of State Maritime and River Supervision of Rostekhnadzor filed a lawsuit with a demand to suspend the terminal’s activities for 90 days. The companies issued an order to eliminate the identified violations by November 30.
